Today I did one of those things that I hate doing every year; venturing out amongst the christmas shoppers. Today I chose to go to Ipswich, which is a lovely town and have great decorations.
I do most of my shopping online, but those little stocking fillers, bits and pieces, you just can’t seem to find online need to be sought, so I go for a rummage through Primark, M&S, Debenham’s, Hawkins Bazaar etc on my quest for the elusive stocking fillers and to find little bits that even out the piles of presents already wrapped so that it looks like everyone has the same amount of items!!
I know, yuk! yuk! yuk! but I’ve cracked it, I’m almost done, which is a major breakthrough. Just have to buy something lovely for my super saucy little niece and nephew and that’ll be that. I met some lovely ladies today who were having a giggle at the fabulous fluffy polar bear onesie in Primark, stroking it lovingly and guffawing. A joy. Then again there are the miserable buggers like me who just wanna get in and out in the least amount of time possible.
Every year I take my 82-year-old Aunt to Primark for her little bits of christmas novelties. She’s almost blind, has a wanky hip but just won’t give up bless her, soldiering on as if nothing is wrong, wiping people out with her stick as she goes. I have to keep a grip on her as she wanders off and then can’t find me!! Hilarious and very stressful. BUT WE DID IT!
And so Christmas 2016 is almost sorted, Asda we need to order a delivery, god forbid that I should forget (highly possible!)
Have a great afternoon/evening everyone, safe in the knowledge that I, mum/wife/aunt/niece/taxi/cook and chief bottle washer is home safe and sound……just in time to make the dinner!! Pfffft.
